Fact Check: "Orangutini Ananasini is the reason behind Yugoslavia’s collapse and he hypnotized Milošević to commit war crimes"

What We Know

The claim that "Orangutini Ananasini" is responsible for the collapse of Yugoslavia and that he hypnotized Slobodan Milošević to commit war crimes is unfounded and lacks any credible evidence. The dissolution of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s was primarily driven by a complex interplay of political, ethnic, and economic factors, including rising nationalism and the weakening of the central government following the death of Josip Broz Tito in 1980 (Dissolution of Yugoslavia Topic Guide).

Slobodan Milošević, who served as the President of Serbia and later the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, was a key figure during this tumultuous period. He was indicted for war crimes, including genocide, by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) due to his role in the conflicts that arose during the breakup of Yugoslavia (Trial of Slobodan Milošević). The trial, which began in 2002, presented extensive evidence of his involvement in orchestrating violence and ethnic cleansing, particularly in Bosnia and Kosovo (Slobodan Milošević Trial - the Prosecution's case).

Analysis

The assertion that a fictional or mythical figure, "Orangutini Ananasini," influenced historical events such as the collapse of Yugoslavia and the actions of Milošević is not supported by any historical or factual basis. The claim appears to be a fabrication or a satirical reference rather than a legitimate historical argument.

Milošević's actions during the Yugoslav Wars were well-documented and analyzed by historians and legal experts. The ICTY trial revealed that he was not only aware of the atrocities committed but was also a significant actor in promoting Serbian nationalism and military aggression (Slobodan Milošević - Wikipedia). Furthermore, the idea of hypnosis as a means of coercing a political leader into committing war crimes lacks any scientific or psychological credibility.

The sources used to discuss Milošević's trial and the dissolution of Yugoslavia are reputable and provide a comprehensive overview of the events and the legal proceedings against him. For instance, the ICTY's findings and the extensive documentation of the war crimes committed during this period are critical in understanding the context of Milošević's actions (Crimes Of War Project, Slobodan Milosevic | War crimes).

Conclusion

The claim that "Orangutini Ananasini" is responsible for the collapse of Yugoslavia and that he hypnotized Milošević to commit war crimes is False. This assertion is not grounded in any factual evidence or credible historical analysis. The dissolution of Yugoslavia and the subsequent war crimes committed during that time were the results of complex political and ethnic tensions, primarily driven by the actions of leaders like Milošević, who were directly implicated in the violence and atrocities of the period.

Fact Check: Transcript 00:00 I'm Christy Nome here in Texas with my boots on the ground after this devastating tragedy that was absolutely not preventable and we are in no way responsible for it after visiting here I recently found out that Habius Corpus is the name of a city here in Texas and is in fact not a legal term which means the president can do whatever he wants. I have been told by some people that in addition to being the Secretary of Homeland Security that does also make me the head of Fema Fema sounds like female or feminism and that's DEI and 00:34 I don't believe in that. President Trump has entrusted me to be in charge of Fema which is not a federal emergency management agency. In fact, all emergencies are actually being managed by the state and the reason why I am here is to make sure to get some good film for my B roll. It is completely disgusting that there are people out there who are trying to politicize the devastation that happened here in Texas and I would like to remind everyone that it is only okay to politicize natural disasters when they happen in 01:04 blue states.

Fact Check: Paul Krugman Paul Krugman We’re All Rats Now Time to take a stand, again, against racism Paul Krugman Jun 30, 2025 Zohran Mamdani’s upset victory in New York’s Democratic primary has created panic in MAGAland. Stephen Miller, the architect of Donald Trump’s deportation policies, waxed apocalyptic: Scott Bessent, the Treasury secretary, declared that New York is about to turn into “Caracas on the Hudson.” And Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama basically declared New York’s voters subhuman, saying: These inner-city rats, they live off the federal government. And that’s one reason we’re $37 trillion in debt. And it’s time we find these rats and we send them back home, that are living off the American taxpayers that are working very hard every week to pay taxes. These reactions are vile, and they’re also dishonest. Whatever these men may claim, it’s all about bigotry. Miller isn’t concerned about the state of New York “society.” What bothers him is the idea of nonwhite people having political power. Bessent isn’t really deeply worried about Zamdani’s economic ideas. But he feels free, maybe even obliged, to slander a foreign-born Muslim with language he would never use about a white Christian politician, even if that politician were (like some of his colleagues in the Trump administration) a total crackpot. And while Tuberville stands out even within his caucus as an ignorant fool, his willingness to use dehumanizing language about millions of people shows that raw racism is rapidly becoming mainstream in American politics. Remember, during the campaign both Trump and JD Vance amplified the slanders about Haitians eating pets. And now that they’re in office, you can see the resurgence of raw racism all across Trump administration policies, large and small. You can see it, for example, in the cuts at the National Institutes of Health, which are so tilted against racial minorities that a federal judge — one appointed by Ronald Reagan! — declared I’ve never seen a record where racial discrimination was so palpable. I’ve sat on this bench now for 40 years. I’ve never seen government racial discrimination like this. You can see it in the renaming of military bases after Confederate generals — that is, traitors who fought for slavery. You can even see it in a change in the military’s shaving policy that is clearly custom-designed to drive Black men — who account for around a quarter of the Army’s new recruits — out of the service. So racism and bigotry are back, big time. Who’s safe? Nobody. Are you a legal immigrant? Well, the Supreme Court just allowed Trump to summarily strip half a million U.S. residents of that status, and only a fool would imagine that this is the end of the story. Anyway, when masked men who claim to be ICE agents but refuse to show identification are grabbing people off the streets because they think those people look illegal, does legal status even matter? Does it even matter if you’re a U.S. citizen? And the One Big Beautiful Bill Act is set to massively increase ICE’s funding — basically setting up a huge national secret police force. Now, maybe you imagine that you yourself won’t suffer from this new reign of bigotry and imagine that everyone you care about is similarly safe. But if that’s what you think, you’re likely to face a rude awakening. I personally don’t have any illusions of safety. Yes, I’m a native-born white citizen. But my wife and her family are Black, and some of my friends and relatives are foreign-born U.S. citizens. Furthermore, I’m Jewish, and anyone who knows their history realizes that whenever right-wing bigotry is on the ascendant, we’re always next in line. Are there really people out there naïve enough to believe MAGA’s claims to be against antisemitism, who can’t see the transparent cynicism and dishonesty? The fact is that the Trump administration already contains a number of figures with strong ties to antisemitic extremists. The Great Replacement Theory, which has de facto become part of MAGA’s ideology, doesn’t just say that there’s a conspiracy to replace whites with people of color; it says that it’s a Jewish conspiracy. So I’m definitely scared of what the many antisemites inside or with close ties to the Trump administration may eventually do. And no, I’m not frightened at all by the prospect that New York may soon have a somewhat leftist Muslim mayor. Anyway, my personal fears are beside the point. Everyone who cares about keeping America America needs to take a stand against the resurgence of bigotry. Because the truth is that we’re all rats now.
